January 10, 2009, 16 SoberBikersUnited members + supporters along with 23 family and friends gathered at the Miami docks and boarded the Carnival ship “Liberty” for a 7 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise. We changed our name to SoberBoatersUnited for this 7 day cruise and a wonderful time we had.
This ship “Liberty” is awesome at 952 feet long and 11 decks high. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our ports of call were San Juan, Puerto Rico, St Thomas, and St Maarten. These are 3 beautiful destinations with St Thomas and St Maarten being indescribably beautiful. Crystal clear waters, sandy white beaches, and the locals were very friendly. There was 2 AA meetings scheduled every day and we made many special friends while attending these meetings.
Now I know some of you might question SoberBikers becoming SoberBoaters for 7 days, but when the weather at home is 9 degrees, it’s a good time to go boating where the temps are 85 to 90, and the sunshine is bright, the ocean water is warm, and the fellowship is as good as it gets, then, why not. We had a great time and as proof, take a look at the pictures below.

Ps: We’ll be doing another one next year, GOD willing.
